LONDON: Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Tuesday that China was a threat to Britain but it was also right to hold talks with Beijing on global challenges such as climate change and the war in Ukraine.
“I am very clear that China presents a systemic challenge to both our values and our interests and represents the single greatest state threat to our economic security and it is therefore right that we must act to protect ourselves. Take steps.” told Sky News on the sidelines of the G20.
Sunak said he hoped he could meet Chinese President Xi Jinping during the summit in Indonesia.
