Google Maps’ search with Live View
Earlier this September, Google announced the search with Live View for the Maps. The feature is built on top of AI, augmented reality, and billions of Street View images. Starting next week, users can use this feature for a visual search experience in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco, and Tokyo on Android and iOS.
Let’s say you are out in New York, and to see the nearby stores and other places, you need to lift the phone and tap on the camera icon in the search bar, the one in Google Maps. You will see AR directions and arrows, telling you the directions and their distance, so you can have the ‘true sense of the neighbourhood at a glance.’
Find the fastest charging station for electric vehicles
The ability to search for charging stations is not something new on Google Maps. But, now you can search for the fastest charging station nearby, and for that, you need to search for “EV charging stations” and select “rapid charge” to see chargers with an output of 50 kW or higher. The option will be available on Android and iOS.
Accessible locations now available for users globally
First launched in 2020, the accessible locations allowed users to wheelchair-accessible, stair-free places around them. Though it was only available in a few select locations, the feature will now be available to users worldwide on Android and iOS.
