Marvel’s Secret Invasion series is set to introduce a new character with ties to Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson.
Daniel Richtman brings word that Charlayne Woodard has joined the cast of Marvel’s Disney Plus series Secret Invasion. According to the insider, Woodard has signed on to play Nick Fury’s wife Priscilla, who is being described as the recently introduced Agents of S.W.O.R.D. agency.
Charlayne Woodard made her acting debut in the original production of the musical Ain’t Misbehaving before starring in various film and television projects. His credits include The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Roseanne, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Chicago Hope, The Division, ER, The Blacklist, Pose, In Treatment, and Animal Kingdom.
“Secret Invasion is a newly announced series headed to Disney Plus starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos – characters who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover event series follows a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years,” according to the series’ official synopsis.
Developed by Kyle Bradstreet, Secret Invasion also stars Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Don Cheadle, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Cillian Scott, Christopher McDonald and Carmen Ejogo. Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim directed the six-episode series.
